CHARLES STREET BUILDINGS GROUP Portfolio
Windsor House, Bridge End, Leeds

Windsor House was constructed in 1993 behind a 19th century facade and was acquired in 2002 from Canada Life Assurance Co. Limited. It is let to the Secretary of State for Transport and is now occupied by HM Revenue & Customs. The office accommodation is arranged over five floors. The property is situated next to the Malmaison Hotel, overlooking and adjacent to the River Aire, and fronting Bridge End which is short walk from Leeds Central Station and City Square. Leeds Bridge, which spans the river next to Windsor House, was built in 1873, replacing the previous mediaeval bridge, the original crossing point into Leeds. In 1888 Louis Le Prince made a pioneering moving picture of traffic crossing Leeds Bridge in which Windsor House is visible.
